The Hashemite University was established in 1991 a four-year coeducational institution committed to excellence in teaching and research. Its grand mission is to offer service and consultation to the local community in addition to the larger society, and to be a cornerstone in the accumulative efforts with other sister universities in Jordan to enhance academic cooperation between Jordan and Arab nations and between Jordan and the world. HU actively participates in achieving the goals of the comprehensive national development through preparing men and women who are not only technically competent in their professional fields, but also life-long learners who have a breadth vision, loyalty to their nation, and a sense of civic and moral responsibility and a devotion to the fundamental values of human life. Awni Itradat
Awni Itradat is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering, Hashemite University. He received the B.SC. degree in Computer Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan in 2000, and the Master and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada in 2008. In 2009, he was appointed as the chairman of the Department of Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering in the Hashemite University. He has also served as a Director of the Computer Center in Hashemite University and, currently, working as the director of the ICT and E-learning Center in the Hashemite University. His research interests include Computer Architecture and Networks, Design of VLSI circuits and systems, Interconnect Modeling and Design, Reconfigurable Circuits, High Level Synthesis of 3D- and 2D-Circuits and Systems.
Ahmad Al-Khasawneh
Ahmad Al-Khasawneh is an Associate Professor of Computer information system at Hashemite University. He holds the PhD and M.Sc. of information and software systems and technology from Newcastle University, Australia and B.S in computer and automatic control engineering. Dr. Khasawneh has 20 years of experience in ICT field and in ICT applications and acts as technical advisor to the Royal Jordanian Airlines (NDC Jordan) director on issues related to the development of travel industry and ICT strategy. Prior to joining the Hashemite University of Jordan, he held several key positions with major international ICT consultancy and solutions firms and lecturer in IT related topics at Newcastle University, Australia. Currently, he is the dean of the Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II for Information Technology at Hashemite University.
Bashar Hammad
Bashar Hammad received B.S. degree from University of Jordan in 1997, M.S. degree from University of Texas at Arlington in 2003, both in Mechanical Engineering, and PhD in Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Tech (VT) in 2008. He received the Graduate Teaching Fellowship at VT in 2007. He focused on solar energy in his undergraduate study and micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) in his postgraduate research. He joined the Hashemite University (HU) as an assistant professor in the Mechatronics Engineering Department. His current teaching and research interests are in solar photovoltaic systems, building automation, and energy harvesters. He served as assistant dean and is currently the director of Academic Quality Assurance Center at HU.
Mohammad Al-Abed
Mohammad Al-Abed is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the Hashemite University. He has received his PhD in 2011 from the University of Texas at Arlington. HeHe is currently serving as the Assistant Dean of Engineering for Industrial Outreach and Training. He works closely with the student body and is serving as the counselor of the IEEE HU Student Branch. He helped with establishing the IEEE EMBS HU Student Branch Chapter and currently serves as its Faculty Advisor. He supervises the student activities and volunteering both on- and off-campus. He is involved with the university strategic plans in expanding its academic and research activities. He is also involved in the university photovoltaic projects including the research projects and the establishment of the 5MWp project to give the university 100% energy independence.
Haneen Hijazi
Haneen Hijazi holds an M.Sc. Degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Engineering from Al-Balqa Applied University and B.Sc. degree in Software Engineering from the Hashemite University, Jordan, in 2006. She is pursuing research on the fundamental principles of Software Engineering with an emphasis on projects and risk management, quality assurance, e-learning, neural networks, decision support systems and natural language processing. Currently she works as lecturer at Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II Faculty of Information Technology at Hashemite University, Jordan.
Ayat Nizar
Ayat Nizar Alahmad received the B.Sc. degree in software engineering from the Hashemite University, Zarqa, Jordan, in 2006, and the M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Al Balqa Applied University, Al Salt, Jordan, in 2012. She is working as lab instructor at Hashemite University, software department since 2006 to present.  Her main areas of research interest are multimedia information retrieval, algorithms and clustering.
